hello everyone i have diffuse unpatterned alopecia (DUPA) and was wondering if everyone else has it, i've had overall thinning on the entire scalp since the age of 17 and currently it looks like i have a full head of thin hair, ive tryed propecia for 8 months with no luck with side effects like rash and hives :( i was thinking about trying rogaine, can anyone help? I'm feeling so low and the weird thing is that my mother has the same problem but more advanced and I'm a male.

yeah ive got it, unfortunately. im 23 and it started thinning like crazy 2 years ago and i just let it shed for with no treatment for around 17 months. in that time i lost a good 60% or more of the hair on top and alot from the sides and back as well. i keep it shaved to zero guard now and im using .5 mg of finpecia, rogaine foam once a day, nizoral every third day and in the days between nizoral i use dr proctors NANO shampoo. ive been on this regimen for a month and a half. and believe it or not im already seeing some thickening. i really believe that having your head shaved down short helps with treatment. plus you never see any shedding. so if you can deal with having hair that short id recommend it.

the only sides ive seen from propecia so far is slightly watery semen. which, ill admit, is extremely troubling to me. but im willing to give it a chance. if i see any other sides though im gonna drop down to .25 and then ill just get off it if sides persist.

so you have the rare hair condition: diffuse unpatterned alopecia? and you think your hair is thickening? do you think its got anything to do with the rogaine? coz for me propecia did nothing but just give me bad side effects for 8 months

ok man but i tried propecia for 8 months and in my case i'm sure it did nothing, i am however curious about rogaine foam i think this stuff opens up the hair follicles, and so it might, you got any pics?
