Diffuse Thinning? Left Temple Has Gone Thin But Intrigued That I May Be Diffusing?

Back again!

I just have a query on diffuse thinning and if I may be a victim!

My left temple has thinned out a little bit and it has been confirmed on a previous post of mine. I’m just wondering if you can predict the hairloss? I’ve had no recession YET. It just appears to be thinner than a few years ago. I’m
Basically wondering if you guys could say or not what kind of hairloss I’m having, I’m aware there’s patterns and didn’t know if diffuse thinning was my pattern?

I’ve just turned 22.

My hairs quite long so it’ll be hard to determine if it’s diffusing hence why I’ve attached some pictures of my hair fresh out of the shower.

The first 4 pictures is my hair soaking wet and the last 3 is dry with no product in.

I haven’t attached my right temple as it’s completely fine (At the Moment!)

Just let me know if you think this is your usual male pattern baldness pattern.

I wanna try and preserve it now as I think it’s confirmed so if you could give me some advice that would be great!

I think you have 0 hair loss. Density and hairline, everything looks perfectly normal. Crown looks little less dense but that's because of lighting. I'm panicking over the same thing but harsh lightning kills everything

If you always had this widows peak in the middle of your hairline, then you're fine. If it appeared recently then you've lost a little but nothing significant. Don't worry about the density on top, that's absolutely normal with wet hair and phone flash.

Thanks for your replies! Yeah I have always had a widows peak but my hair is just not as thick as what it used to be when I was 18. Can hair get thin throughout the years without it leading to hairloss?

Would this be considered a normal hairline? I see some hairlines that are literally straight. Mine appears to be a bit wonky and the widows peak appears to be wispy in my opinion. I’m 22 so not sure if it’s juts thinned out with age.

It's better than normal and considering the fact that your dad is still nw0, you'll probably stay like this for decades. You have too many posts on a hair loss forum, for someone with 0 hair loss.

Thank you for the reply! Yeah I know I go abit overboard on the posts to be honest. I’ve got a serious OCD about it which has just come out of nowhere. It’s my left temple that just seems very thin! I am not sure if this is because I slept on it and the hair has come together in a clump but it just looks unusually thin for where it is.

I’m not too fond of what miniaturisation completely but are those little sparse hairs a case of miniaturisation? Sorry to keep going on and on.

Thank you man! I don’t wanna come across as a prick whatsoever. I guess it’s because I’ve had mixed responses over the months regarding my left temple. This photo I’ve got here is what started off the worry.

The density was just a concern for me.

You don't come across like that at all. In my opinion you have nothing to worry about, just check back every few months to make sure.

Stop worrying so much and go out and live the life of someone with a full head of hair, i'm happy for you.

Thank you for the feedback! Worry about this sh*t too much. I was told by a couple of people on this site that I had male pattern baldness because of my thinning temple but don’t know what to believe anymore.

I guess I post a lot because most responses are mixed and if it was confirmed for me then I may would look into treatment to stop it from progressing any further (If It’s even happening!)

You dont have diffuse thinning. When you do, your hair lays flat on your head and its hard to style it compared to non thinning regions. I can tell yours doesnt lay flat from the wet pics. Leave this site and go live your NW0 life.

Thank you. So is this normal? I promise that will be the last post off me haha! I’m not sure if a part should be this wide? My hair is quite thick surrounding the part. Not sure if I can blame the lighting or not but it just seems unnatural.

Your part looks a little bit wide. It could be this is your natural hair. My part gets wider towards the crown.

i see early signs of recession there, you should consider taking finasteride as prevention measure or minoxidil

Thank you for all of the replies! I assume my crown is thinning? Sorry to bombard once again, I’m just aware that the crown is a good indicator for male pattern baldness. Please see photos attached.

You are just starting to go. You may, or may not, but probably will not get an thin that you look it any of the sicklys that inhabit this board, which is why they will tell you you're not losing anything, but it may eventually get to the point where you have hair, but it's too thin to pull it back or style or the way you want.

What I would do is at least go through the motions of seeing a dermatologist, n see what he says. He might give you a finasteride prescription. Or he may not, but at least you'll have gone through the channels n you'll feel like it's right in arms reach when you feel like pulling the trigger. Which, I suspect, you will one way or the other on the next few years.
