diffuse thinning, how long does it take to become noticeable

I am 30,

I have slight diffuse hairloss throughout my scalp which seems to have changed very slightly for the worse in the past couple of years, though to any of my friends I still have a perfectly full head of hair. Left temple is NW1.5 right temple is NW1.

Wondering (diffusers please chip in here...) how long it takes from noticing this type of initial thinning, bearing in mind the slow progress... to reach a stage where the thinning becomes noticeable to others.

I have propecia in my cupboard, but still wondering if it's worth taking. Maybe I should wait until my problem becomes more apparent.

Well now might be the best time to start. You could maintain what you have now for years and never have to find out how bad it can/will get. So many people regret not starting treatment early. You could avoid being one of them by just starting treatment now

It has taken me all of one year for my thinning to become noticeable to others.

One year ago my thinning was NOT noticeable to others, except to my barber who pointed it out to me. Ever since he pointed it out, BAM!, downhill from there.

Fact of the matter is that by the time it is noticeable to yourself, you would have already been suffering hair loss for sometime, undetected.

By the time it is noticeable to others, you would have been well into the later stages of hair loss where it is undoubtedly harder to combat as the degradation of your hair follicles is even worse.

Putting off treatments only worsens the situation.

I was 10 years younger then you are right now when I was in the same situation....you should feel lucky....losing it in your 30s is much less of an issue then it was for someone young and single and still growing up in college.

I'm a diffuse thinner as well. I got concerned about two years ago. Since then, it has definitely got to the point where people should be noticing.
My only saviour is that I have slightly curly hair (made curlier by humid days).
On good days, people say I'm not going bald. On bad days, they say something like "well, it's not that bad".
Act now!
