Summing up very quickly - I have very aggressive diffuse thinning. My hair changed from thick to thin and lifeless almost overnight in my early 20s and my hair texture, colour and loss pattern exactly mirror's my uncles who lost all his hair in his 20s. I started to get comments back in 05 that people could see my scalp and a year later (I panicked) I got on Proscar (1.25mg) daily. I have been on it ever since (16 months). It seemed to stable things but since the start of last month I have been shedding heavily again. It is terrifying me. I have order some Toppik but I want opinions on minnox.
The crown area is very thin under direct light and the thinness seems to have spread to cover the whole top of the scalp. Thinking I need to boost my regime.
Is it worth it getting on the minnox - seems like the finasteride has been beaten by the form of male pattern baldness I have. Pretty desperate - I read that it can thicken hair. Should I bother? Foam/liquid?
Opinions appreciated - cheers. I am also on Nizoral by the way and am now 25 (Still in the UK). male pattern baldness sucks.
