Diffuse male pattern baldness, does it halt?

I have read that typical Norwood male pattern baldness can stop at some point and pick up again later on. Is it the same for those who have Diffuse male pattern baldness?

A lot of the threads about accelerated male pattern baldness seem to be from Diffusers.

If someone is going from Norwood2 to Norwood 3, hair that is shed from the temples and crown shrink after every shed and regrowth until thinning and baldness occur. But those who have Diffuse male pattern baldness, the entire top of the scalp is targeted. Any hair shed on top is going to grow back thinner every time.

Isn't this the more accelerated form of male pattern baldness?

I wish the propecia trials showed seperate stats for Norwood and Diffuse male pattern baldness'ers.

Since finasteride is a useful tool for maintanance, would it be as highly affective on those suffering from diffuse thinning? I'm a diffuse thinner and don't know if finasteride is right for me. Has finasteride proven as succesful for diffuse thinners. The rest of my regimen consists of Biotin and nizoral 1%. Can somebody please help with suggestions or comments. Am I doing the right thing?

N1kki6, great to hear. Like Jeff asked, do you have any pics of your progress? Has your hair thickened since you've started finasteride or have you simply maintained the same hair at the same density?

I dont have any before pictures, i was on finasteride for about a year and showed great progress, then i stopped for 3 months starting shedding and am now back on it and shedding has halted completely.

I am 23 now and started losing when i was 18. I used the crap products for a year+ until i found this site and started with rogaine. That seemed to help up until mid 21 when it started to fall out fast, you could see my scalp at almost all time, my girlfriend mentioned it and then some people at work as well when i asked them. I couldnt use gel cause i looked terrible with all the scalp you could see. After the shock of that i started on the finasteride shortly after turning 22, i shaved my head like in these pics and just hit my regimine religiously.

Slowly as the months went on i could tell it was starting to thicken up so after keeping it short for months i decided to let it grow out and it was much better. This was when i tried stopping the finasteride and staying with just rogaine, and that when i started shedding again. Now about 3 weeks back on my shedding has stopped and things seem to be headed in the right direction. I will take more pics in another month.

Before i was taking 1.25 finasteride. I was cutting fincar into fourths, when doing that i had small sexual side effects. This time i am taking the 1mg finpecia with no sides and still seem to be getting results.

I have always ordered from inhousepharmacy.com
