Hi everyone,

I had a question that I wanted to ask for a while, so i joined this webstie to ask. Iam a 19 year old male, after seeing that my hair is thickening in the front, I went to a dermatologist and he prescribed 5 % minoxidil to be applied twice a day. However 5% concentration gave me irregular heat beat, so I changed to 2 % minoxidil which was ok. However I dont feel that it is giving me good results after 4 months of use, so Im planing to add 5 % minoxidil. I was wondering if it is ok to use 2 % in the morning and 5 % at night? are different doses going to cause any prblem?(some drugs require the same dose to be applied each time). I started this method two weeks ago and my shedding has dramatically increased and this scares me a bit.
Thanks :agree:

There's nothing wrong with using different doses like that at the same time.

BTW, there was really no particular reason for you to go out and buy a separate bottle of 2% Rogaine just for that purpose. All you had to do was use less of the 5% Rogaine, and you would have gotten the same results as the 2%. Both the 2% and the 5% versions turn into the same thing shortly after you apply them to your scalp (concentrated solutions of minoxidil in propylene glycol); only the quantities differ.
