Did I make 5% "liquid spironolactone?"

For most of the spironolactone cream recipes I've found around here, some of the ingredients listed have been discontinued for several years.

I just stirred and dissolved 1 yellow 100mg spironolactone pill with 2 ml warm water, and immediately applied to my scalp with a dropper. Similar to rogaine, it dried a little later and a thin, albeit yellow, layer appeared caked to the scalp.

I actually thought it smelled good. Anyways, did I make 5% "liquid spironolactone?" Will this work as well as store-bought topical spironolactone?

Surely not

You mixed it with water, how are you expecting your scalp to absorb it?

You'll need to mix it with ethanol and PG or something. Still not sure on how effetive it would be.

It sure felt like it was being absorbed. Maybe because it was warm, the pores opened up enough? I could add alcohol if it was absolutely essential. But, according to

http://www.hlcconline.com/howwemademinoxidilbetter.htm

the alcohol in rogaine quickly dries and actually interferes with the absorption, so why would this case be any different?
