3) He said that I shouldn't get male pattern baldness at my age (22).

You shouldn't be getting male pattern baldness at your age?? Try getting it a month before you 17th birthday. To make a comment like that shows me that your doctor doesn't in fact know as much as you may think he does about hairloss. 22-25 seems to be a very common age.

I don't know what to say. I think the accuracy of a hair pull test is negilgable at best. If its chronic Telogen Effluvium you should just be on a growth stimulant like Tricomin or Rogaine and that's pretty much all you can do about it, and sit and wait. Also, Telogen Effluvium by definition is caused by a traumatic event that happened roughly 3 months prior to the onset of the thinning. If absolutely nothing happened, and your blood levels are fine, you may consider male pattern baldness. 22 is not an unheard of age to begin thinning but if you are GENUINELY thinning on the sides of your head, that is a little weird. You could be going through what many go through though - which is that normal change of life/hair thinning every single guy i know had between age 22 and 25...

Please click the word "Telogen Effluvium" in this post, it is a link, read that article.
