DHT levels on scalp

went to advanced hair studios a few months ago for a consultation.
he told me about the treatments but it sounded like a money making scam.

so i didnt take up the treatment. but he did a test on my head with some kind of magnifer object. basically he showed a close up of my hair folicles. he said to me that he was suprised that i didnt have high levels of DHT in my head or something. even though im suffering from heavy hair loss. and said that when he did the test on people with hair loss. they showed hight levels in their hair. but mine was less then his and he has a full head of hair.

anyone know what this means? could my hair loss be due to somthing else then my genes

It sure could be something else however it could also be the fact that your hair is sensitive to DHT at any level.

Furthermore, whilst he, the consultant, may have a full head of hair and higher amounts of DHT in his scalp than you, he may not be susceptible to hair loss at all by way of genetics.

You should never draw comparisons to others for if you do you will be left making conclusions that make little theoretical and practical sense and which could cost you dearly in the long run.

Do yourself a favor and get some blood tests done, checking your thyroid levels TSH, T3, T4 etc and see how you fair. In the majority of all cases it is however male pattern baldness, though there are many mitigating pathways than fuel the fire of hair loss, thus there are many things in which you can do to combat it.

By the way I did not know they could "see DHT" with a magnifying glass I think he was pulling your leg with that one! LoL. They are a rip off seriously. This and other forums will provide you with a wealth more information than they would ever conceive of knowing themselves.

yeh it wasnt a magnifying glass as such. it was a hair dryer shaped objected that was connected to a monitor. and it showed my hair in alot of detail that ive never seen before.

i couldnt believe how close up it got.
