there are only two reasons to see a doctor:

1. It is cheaper than getting a prescription at medicalwellnesscent ers dot com.
2. You are obese and therefore will need your liver monitored.
3. You are not smart enough to recongise hair loss that is not in the male patern.

I was wondering the same thing.

So CCS - I've just been worried as I started Procepia and then minoxidil when I just noticed some thinning at the temples, this was just over a year ago (only been on minoxidil for about 10months thought) and since that time I my hairloss has acceralated 100 fold. Esp. in the past few months my head feels weird, like tingling light sensatation, like something is in my hair. It seems as if i'm in a constant shed. I would have alreay seen a dermatologist but as you say my hairloss pattern seems to follow male pattern baldness - temples, front, now entire top. However the last 2 of those have only just 'exploded' into view in about 3 months.

So do you think seeing a dermatologist is waste of money/time? If so what would you do if you were me?

Dermatologist or any doctor is not a waste of time. You should visit a doctor before starting any medication. But its a whole different story when they say are not so informed about male pattern baldness and that's why we have this forum. We read share and discuss male pattern baldness here and i would say we are really good/better then a mediocore dermatologist.
