okay i just received my dermatch and i tried it on.

1st of all let me say that i have very very short hair... maybe 1 cm at the longest.

it does cover up my scalp lol but it looks as if i freakin PAINTED my head.

smells pretty nice.. like soap =)

but the WORST part about it is...

IT LEAVES A FREAKIN HUGE *** MESS IN MY BATHROOM! the powder is all over my sink and mirror it's a pain in the ***!

how do you guys apply it in a way so that the brush won't flick off the powder in every freakin direction?

also, for those of you who have farily short hair and have success with dermatch, around how long is your hair because DERMATCH looks like crap (literally like i painted my head) on me ( i have 1 cm long hair )

ALSO WHEN I USE THAT DERMATCH APPLICATOR, IT FREAKIN PULLS OUT SOME HAIRS! WTF?

also my hair doesn't feel or look any thicker... it looks just as if theres the same amount of hair but the thin parts are colored in... is it supposed to be like this?

thanks guys

The best advice I can give with Dermatch is to experiment with the amount you are using. Try using a very little amount. Lightly brush through. Wait for it to dry. Then brush it again. It's tricky to get it just right but once you do, it really can do amazing things.

For the record, my hair is about 1.5 inches long, so I have an easier time with it. But when my head was buzzed, I was still able to use it. Just sparingly.

I just ordered my first tray last night.

Are you opposed to growing your hair out a little? It might be a good time to do it, as you will be getting better at applying the stuff as it grows, and it should make your hair better looking too (we hope).

no im not opposed to it but my hair grows so damn slowly and i want to be able to use the product without it making it look as if i painted my scalp.

my big question is...

does dermatch work well with styling product?

I believe some styling products will work well, but you'll just have to experiment. To be honest, and have no idea how this stuff will work, cosmetically speaking, and I would definitely assume its a scam if I hadn't read testimonials here on this forum....

I'm looking forward to testing it out on myself.

I have very short hair as well 1-2 cm.

Try this:
(Make sure your hair is clean and completely dry.)

1) Wet the applicator, then shake it until all surplus water is off (3 times I guess)

2) Make round medium-hard movements in the disc with the applicator. Do this until the applicator is dry, meaning it stops leaving water marks in the disc.

3) The first strokes will contain much powder, so therefore make two strokes on some toilet paper.

4) Start in the middle of the area - save the hairline for last. This way you will only have a little powder left on the applicator thus creating a more natural hairline as opposed to the "painted" one if you start off at the hairline.

5) When doing the hairline then you should NOT go all the way, stop 0,5 cm before the end of the hairline. All people have som fuzzy hair around their hairlines. Otherwise your hairline will seem unatural due to the very sudden contrast (full hair ctr. no hair). You want to make the hairline fading gradually out.

6) Let it dry for 5 minutes (or until completely dry). Then take some toilet paper and brush it through the area. Make movements like when drying your hair with the towel but NOT as hard. Now the paper is painted with the excessive powder and you have distributed the remaining powder more naturally in your hair and on your scalp.

7) Wait 1 minute and apply a styling product of your choice. This is extremely important. I couldn't use Dermmatch if not using a styling product. The dermmatch is detectable until I use the mouse. I recommend a mouse, but make sure that whatever you use that it should not be a "strong hold" product. That way you're hairs will stick to each other thus creating the impression that you have even thinner hair then you actually have.

But the mouse is extremely important because it gives the all of my hairy head the same wet-like colour or appearance thus removing the contrasts between the Dermmatch area and the rest of my head.

Hope this helps!

PS. You have to practice! I sucked in the beginning, but now I'm getting pretty good at this shiiiiiiiaaaat!

What are you doing with the applicator? It's a foam pad. If that's pulling out your hair, dunno what else you could use. I don't know how you are applying but go slowly and carefully and you should be okay.

damn guys... i have no idea why but dermatch is f*****g pulling out a lot of hairs when i apply it...

the only way it wont pull out my hair is if i lightly tap the applicator on my head but that doesnt do sh*t for coverage...

the only way it covers my thin areas is if a firmly brush it across my scalp which gives friction to my hairs.

I always apply downwards WITH the hairs - not against them. So it seems impossible that this would pull out hairs.

Remember, that you're prone to lose aprox. 100 hairs a day. The hairs you see on the applicator is most likely just hairs that were going to fall off anyway. Just like when you take a shower, dry your hair with the towel, walking in the wind, sleeping on the pillow. There's no way the applicator is pulling out fresh hairs.

is it fuckin normal for the applicator to yank out like 40 hairs even after i just showered and dried my hair?

wtf... and i think it's yanking cuz i feel my hair pulling a bit

but wow, i must say, the coverage is fuckin awesome! thanks buffboy your method really helped me. it just takes practice lol

but yeah still i dont wanna use dermatch if it keeps yankin out hairs because im gonna need my hair for it to work :(
