dude i know its sort of a "scam hairloss treatment" but seriously, the nioxin shampoo/ conditioner i have been using is awesome. makes my scalp super cool, and my hair just feels clean and nice afterwards, i would give that a shot. i think its sort of expensive though :-(

no i didn't ask the doctor about it, sorry.

Have you tried T-Gel shampoo? A German doctor in a book about hairloss says that coal tar has been shown to reduce the size of sebaceous glands and/or reduce the production of sebum in laboratory animals and humans. Alternating between Nizoral and T-Gel may have some synergistic effects that might be helpful for you.

tried that as well.... i think its weird how in hairloss books they mention that this is a problem and all the people on this site will probably agree that scalp oil has something to do with hairloss progression and yet not one is really working on fixing that aspect

Yesterday I buyed Pure Aloe Vera 98% w/Allantoin & Azulene mixed it with Chinese Balance Tea (Instant Tea w/flower essences in high sulubale powder form) in about 2oz hot water. Into that i put som Gernier Deep Pore Wash(4 face) and some Define Volume Protein Leave-In Balsam..
Massage it in and leave it on over night.. Today i not even notice any oil and i even wear cap all day, even keot myself in motion today..

One day i find a "cure"!!! haha.. but.. this was kinda cool observation anyway

Have you tried taking Vit A? More than the daily recommended dose, but not TOO much to cause toxicity.

Bumping an old thread. Has anyone had any luck with an oily scalp? I have been on finasteride about 5 years and hairloss/shedding has halted I believe. But if I dont wash my hair daily I seem to get really oily disgusting hair, to the point where it seperates and you can see scalp.

Is accutane still a good choice or is there something else that works and maybe not so harsh on the liver if using taking everyday? I already do enough damage to my liver :)

I also read dutasteride is better for oily scalp but I would like to use that as a last resort if finasteride stops working. Would topical finasteride every couple of days or daily help on top of my oral finasteride?

Whenever I see posts from 10+ years ago I am always very curious to know if they managed to keep their hair or not.
