how much density can we get from a hair transplant in comparison to normal hair density,? will this ever improve? what about hm is that a promise of more density?

Joe, possibly a better question might be, "How much density might I need to regain the optimal illusion of coverage?"

So attaining 50-60% of virgin density will suit most patients with average hair characteristics.

Other clinical advances have allowed for higher levels of density with less trauma referred to as dense packing. So the numbers per cm2 can get much higher.

Gill,

It's also relative to the amount of area covered. You can achieve full density in lower Norwoods, some 3's , 2's. Obviously, higher Norwood, the main objective is coverage and "the illusion of density."

True. And so does the degree of hairloss within the recipient area. There's a big difference between grafting into existing hair compared to achieving any meaningful coverage from ground zero.

a hairtransplant is a illusion and will never be able to have enough donor hair to have a natural thick head of hair.every time you step in to the day lite or under ant kind of lighting you scalp will show thrue also all the scars from implanting the hair shaft.basicaly you hair will dissapear with any kind of light or sun. it is impossible to get anything but a illusion from a hairtransplant

I have no scars in my recipient area. Just visible scalp. The only scar I have is a linear 1/4 inch wide one on the back of my head, which shows when my hair gets below 1/2 inch long.

And dermmatch hides the scalp well, but does not look as good as locks of hair.
