I really like the dabber bottles. I even filled an empty one with minoxidil for use along me hairline.
I don't have a shaved head, longish, straight hair with a part down the middle. It's pretty thick too.
I have no problem using it along the middle 2" or so width along the part and on the hairline. If you press it on the head it should get to scalp no matter how thick your hair I'd think. I can tell mine's getting thru because it's cold from the fridge.
If you have to use a dropper though, the dabber part does come off. Just twist it slowly so as not to spill. Might need to pry it up a bit first.
Can't really say how spironolactone did for me because minoxidil has done so great. Did spironolactone for 6-7 months but stopped when I got back on finasteride. I may get more spironolactone though since I dumped finasteride again.
