Cutting Propecia pills

If i start cutting propecia in half will i have the same affect as if i were taking the whole 1.mg pill vs. the .05? if so why doesnt everyone cut their pills?

because research shows that 1mg is maximal for treating male pattern baldness, though the smaller dosages are close, 1mg reduced the most dht and regrew the most hair
