Can you cut a hard part into a lace base system or will the base show too much?

What do you mean by 'cut a hard part'? You mean make a parting? Yes you can - I have a central parting in my all lace system, however I think to make it look more realistic bleached knots or skin looks better on the parting, so you can get ask for that if you order a custom system. You can get away with it though, most of the time.

Like this where you actually cut in a part as opposed to just parting your hair with a comb.

Ok, so you would have your bio hair on 1 side of the parting and the system on other side? Or would the parting be on the system itself? If the latter, then the parting is going to be pretty close to the edge of your system (it's easier with a central parting). The lace is likely to be somewhat visible unless it has bleached knots in the parting area.

Yes I meant cutting the actual hair on the base.
I would suggest against it, it requires either using a razor or clippers that could potentially snag or tear the lace. Either buy a system that has a built-in parting or give up on this look.

I feel like I or my hair stylist could cut it carefully but my big concern is this area showing too much lace?
