Hey Fellas -

Just got home from a 1200 graph session. Seems like things are going to look good? The strip on the back is pretty incredible. It is not noticeable at all!!!

Anyway, something came up and I would really like to go out this Friday. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get these crusts to fall out faster?? The graphs on my forehead I can cover with my hair but the graphs on my temple I can't cover.

Any tips or ideas on how to post pics. I would like to I have just tried it before unsuccessfully.

Personally, I would not try to rush it. You have a pretty big investment up there on your head to risk damaging it just for a "night out".

I thought about that today. Your probably right. I may just let the chips fall as they may. Of course Easter is Sunday. That's another issue.

It will be tough to explain that at the dinner table.

It really takes 8-10 days post-op before the crusts are ready to come off. Are you using Graftcyte or some other post-op topical treatment to advance the healing to your epidermis? Or are you at least spraying the recipient area with saline? Hey, the best is yet to come, HAPPY GROWTH! :hairy:

SAline? Like contact saline solution. I am putting vitamen E on them right now to see if that helps. Seems everytime I take a shower they get less and less noticeable.

That's because H2o has healing properties to it as well. I really doubt that saline applications would provide you much additional benefit at this point in time. The applications are more beneficial immediately following surgery like the first three days or so post-op. What post-op instructions were you given by your doctor?

He said not to put anything on the crusts. However, this is my 2nd surgery and the first doctor told me to put Vitamen E on the crusts. I have heard people on other broards say the same thing.

Dr. Ahn - I know you haven't heard of him. No one has. So far so good though. I obviously wont know till everything is grown in but seems to be fine. Painless, very professional, honest at the consultation.

It's coming along nicely. The back of my head doesn't hurt but seems very tight. I don't remember my last (2) procedures but this is more of a pain in the *** then I remember. I knew there was care involved but, I can't wait to be able to shampoo my hair normally. The crusts are just about out and from what I can see from the hair in the crusts it is going to look good.

If you had two previous procedures then perhaps the more noticed discomfort is a result of lower laxity in your scalp giving you a sensation of increased tightness. That in itself does not imply any complications unless you end up with a wider than desired linear scar. And don't worry because I'm certainly not trying to imply anything. The epidermis should stretch with time and every month that passess should become easier, especially sleeping.

Do you know the method of closure the doctor utilized? You sound happy and satisfied md2002 and that's the important thing. Happy growing friend! :hairy:

I think that is the problem. This scar was huge! Reason being is that my (2) previous procedures were with Bosley. When this surgeon looked at the (2) previous donor areas he said they were a mess, very noticeable, and there was no rhyme to the reason. In other words the previous (2) scars were taken very randomly in the back of my head. What Dr. Ahn did was take enough of a donor area for my 1200 graphs and also do a scar repair of the (2) previous donor areas. He had to cut enough away so that there is only one big scar now which was done very well. If all heals correctly you should not see this scar nor will you see the other (2) scars that were VERY obvious everytime I got my hair cut.

I don't know the name of the enclosure he used but he said it is a common plastic surgery procedure where they take the scar and close it up so that the hair grows through the scar making it invisible. One of the things Dr. Ahn specializes in is scar repair, from auto accidents, previous surgeries, so on and so fourth.

I just can't wait for the back of my head to feel normal. Time my friend, time is the key.

You're right, time is the key right now. I wonder if your Doctor is really a plastic surgeon who also does hair transplants. I know one in Baltimore who also does hair transplants, his name is Dr. James Vogel.

It sounds you you had a tricophetic closure. I am happy for you that you had those scar revisions too! :D

He did his internship ( if that's what it's called ) under a surgeon in California who did hair transplant's. He then brought it into his own proctice once he found a technician, Valerie Maze, he cut out the Donar area, marked off the area and made the holes. Valerie did the rest.

I would like to share pictures but don't know how to do it.
