I am 25 male. Have low hair density in the front and vertex of my head. Hairline has been same for past 2-3 years. Can you take a look at my crown and comment, is it thinning Or it is just a cowlick.

I also have another question on cowlicks to the experts. Cowlicks develop(change/vanish/appear) overtime or they are always present as they were at the time of birth.

Now I can see and yes...you are in early stages.
Yup, diffusing all over, was just worried that it started at crown too.
I have decided to grow out my hair and cherish it till the last strand.
No regimen for now.

may I ask why you don't want to try anything? Mild hairloss is the easiest one to treat, if you're afraid of sides from finasteride you could always dose it very low. But if you don't care about your hair that much then it's just easier to not have to worry about it.

How dare you say that i dont care about my hair??
I f*****g love my hair,(check my uname) and i did go to a derm, he asked me to wait and observe for 6 months and i agreed (for now) because

1. Fina seems like a big commitment to me.
2. Sides offcourse
3. Hair density has definitely decreased but no miniaturisation.
4. If i have to stop, my condition may become worse(or not) but i dont wish to see any shedding.
5. I shed around 30-40 hair everyday now which seems normal.
6. I have read about people for whom fina worked great for a while but then their body adapted to its effects, for results, they kept increasing dosage, eventually losing hair.
7. My hairloss in not very obvious. Nobody else has pointed it out(other than meself).
8. I am not saying it has not worked for others but i am just not ready yet

First of all stop acting agitated, I said that it's an easier life IF you don't care about your hair as much. Who wants to wake up everyday and worry about all of this? yeah nobody.

all im saying is that mild hairloss is pretty much almost guaranteed to be reversible.

Haha.. okay i am sorry , i ll stop acting. But seriously, i dont want to start fina just yet.

And about caring and easier life, that is the real problem with us men. We start caring only when the problem starts. I can bet most of the guys here, started to search on proper haircare and hair health when they noticed something different with their hair.

Unlike women who keep long hair(generally) which requires more care and maintenance, men generally keep short(easier life). Our version of proper care starts when we start worrying everyday morning, which needs to change(fix it and move on, well, not going to work, haircare seems like a lifelong process).

But i hope it changes, thanks to the internet, you can see 15-19 year olds are joining the forum, their friends would by filling their scalps with products and hot blow dryers everyday. I remeber when i was in college 4-5yr ago, i used to use a shampoo everyday which is stupid. I didnt even know about the term male pattern baldness.

Key is taking care of your hair everyday and a good diet(without worrying offcourse) whether you are losing hair, not losing hair. male pattern baldness can be delayed.
