Cowlick or Balding?

Hello, I am 23 year old male. I noticed the other day that my hair seemed thin after taking a shower and i could see a lot of scalp this kind of scared me so i started inspecting around. I've been told that I have a cowlick but I was looking at it and it seems like it might be balding at the crown. Here are some pictures with dry and wet hair. can you guys tell me what you think?

I also don't notice any shedding of my hair on my pillow or from brushing/showering

doesnt look like a cowlick to me bro.. looks too big to just be natural.. but i could be wrong

i agree with mothernature. in the dry pic i could just about believe it was a cowlick but the wet pics made it look very much like thinning. jump on finasteride and after 4-6 months youll probably be perfect again.

thanks for the replies, I'm going to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist next week. How effective is finasteride and how long do you think i will be able to hold off from balding with it?

depends how well you respond. if you get fincar (ie dirt cheap) then you won't have to worry about it at all in terms of finances. and then after that you just gotta take pictures on day 1 and then maybe every month after month 4 or so, and you'll be able to judge for yourself- or upload it here so we can make you feel a lil more confident

personally i think i've seen some gains, but the peace of mind i've gained since starting it is unbelievable. i'll still have days where i feel like crap but they're offset a lot by the fact i know i'm taking the most legitimate step towards solving it.
