Hey guys, I’m looking for your opinions here. I have a double crown/cowlick and I’m trying to figure out if I am starting to bald or if I don’t need to worry. I purchased minoxidil in case I needed to start and I’m getting an official dermatologist opinion in a few months. The pictures are cropped so they’re not the best but I feel they should be enough.

I’m 22 1/2.

The back of your hair looks a tad thin, but could just be your cowlick. Unfortunately the front of your hairline is definitely norwood 2.5-3 so you have male pattern baldness. I'd say it's likely your crown is next in that case.

For the front, I honestly have not worried about it. I’ve always had a sharp widows peak and comparing pictures from a teenager, it looks almost identical. No family history of hair loss at the front too. I’m expecting a mature hairline and that’s about it. I’d honestly be surprised if anything more popped up.

In that case I would just keep comparing months at a time. No need to stress if it is anything as you could always just regrow or maintain essentially all of what you have now with future treatment if ever needed. my opinion is that hairline is beyond mature as it has an obvious M rather than V shape, but it could just be what you've always had as you said I suppose. the crown does look like it could be on the verge of thinning though. I also have a cowlick back there but it looks thicker than that
