I am thinking of switching from cow's milk to soya milk, it would be good ? My doctor said that the soya milk contains Isoflanovas, which seems to be good for the hair

Neither are particularly good. The cow milk sold in stores comes from cows that are fed mostly processed grain instead of grass and given hormones to make them lactate for 10 months out of the year. Not to mention it's pasteurized.

Soya milk coantains phytoestrogens and like you said it interferes with the thyroid.

You could try almond, hemp, or rice milk as alternatives.

Why are people afraid of phyto-estrogens in soy products? Do people know what phyto-estrogens actually are?

People on finasteride especially will benefit from phyto-estrogens because of their anti-estrogenic properties, so I don't get why people don't like them.

Soya milk is particularly rich in linoleic acid, which in large amounts is carcinogenic. I would rather go for skimmed organic milk or rice milk.
