So from my understanding there is a link between balding and heart disease since they both work by the same mechanism. This made a thought cross my mind that finasteride would potentially have some benefit in terms of this. Upon looking this up I found this rather interesting study, it is on mice but the results reflect my initial thought exactly.

Finasteride, which is currently used in patients to treat prostate disease, potently reverses pathological cardiac hypertrophy and dysfunction in mice and might be a therapeutic option for heart failure."
