About two months post op, I started Eucapil, and applied it to the whole front third of my head. It is 96% isopropyl alcohol, active ingredient 2% fluridil with 2% grapeseed oil. I used it for two months, 2mL once a day. Could the alcohol have killed any grafts?
IMO, no, you did not do anything to hurt your grafts. Minoxidil also has an extremely high level of alchohol (60% v/v), and propylene glycol however they are inactive ingredients similiar to the product you are using. The oil content serves a two-fold purpose. It facilitates the saturation of the ingredients into the scalp tissue and also aids in reducing the itching side-effects from the high level of alchohol. The high alchohol concentrate can really dry out the epidermis and even cause flaking.
Honestly? Why not just stick with the minoxidil if your goal is to jump start your grafts. Most docs will inform you that it is safe to apply as early as two weeks post-op and providing of course that complete healing of the scalp surface has taken place.
