Guys:
I have an Indian channel through a dish. They advertise about pantene - hair fall control. The ad claims that users will stop shedding their hair in 3 months and users can expect can 50% more hair in 3 months. How do they claim this? Do they add any hairgrowth agents to their shampoo? They don't sell this in US. It is one thing to claim cosmetic effects, but it is a scam to claim regrowth and stoppage of hair loss.

India might have more liberal legislation regarding claims made on television advertising?

Or, the shampoo might have something like Saw Palmetto in it? SP, on paper, can be claimed to be an 'anti-androgen' but in actuality is not all that helpful as a topical. Despite this, the addition of SP could, in effect, allow them to make claims about potential improvement in haircount?

However, the ad's claim that the shampoo will stop shedding is 100% bullshit. ALL hairs have to shed from time to time, male pattern baldness or not.

Stuff like this always irritates me because you know there is someone out there who will try it and get ripped off.
