Controlling DHT Levels

Hi Guys,

Joined this forum today to hopefully get answers to my balding concerns.... :sobbing:

I recently came to know about DHT levels and how it affects hair loss. I am trying to figure out, what are the ways I can control DHT levels. Here are the questions:

1. What is the effect of mastrubation on DHT levels? I do it once or twice a week. But sometimes 3-4 times in a day. Does it really affects the DHT level and why I am going bald???

2. I am currently using Rogaine and considering using Propecia. I am also taking Nioxin Multivitamins, with FishOil and Centrum. What are the other products that you think could be helpful? Any Shampoo? or Anything without much side effects?

Thanks a ton for any suggestion.

Regards

I wouldn't worry about the first question.

As for the second question -- the best available scientific evidence seems to indicate that Rogaine by itself doesn't really interfere in any way with the fundamental balding process. It can stimulate growth, of course, but that's only a temporary effect. You still slowly lose hair, even with any stimulated growth you have at the beginning.

The suggestion is rather obvious: don't use Rogaine alone, assuming that it's going to have a long-term effect. Always use it along with other agents! Propecia would be excellent for that purpose, since it _does_ interfere with the fundamental balding process. Other possibilities would be Revivogen (a highly controversial treatment! :)), copper-peptide products like Tricomin and Folligen, and (probably best of all) Proxiphen or Prox-N, which are topical products from Dr. Proctor which attack the balding problem from several different angles. I highly recommend those last two, but they aren't cheap.
