I started taking finasteride at the start of october last year and it made the thinning areas itch a fair bit and the receding really sped up so i dropped it to once every other day and the itch went away and the receding slowed down.

My hair is still thinning today and while i have kept going with it thinking it was probably a shed i actually don't feel like i get much noticeable hair fall, its just all in the appearance of thinning.

And recently when my hair is wet and in bathroom lighting i can see my alot of my scalp through my hair.

I also use regenpure every couple of days, derma roller (whenever i remember) and spectral.DNC.R daily

Is it time to quit Finasteride?

Still too early. If you really want to know if finasteride is effective you have to give it a full 2 years

I started finasteride in November last year and my hair also got worse during this time. Today I'm clearly beyond baseline and I'm shedding a lot of hair. Hope finasteride will kick in soon. :(

So my hair has to thin out for 2 years before i know if its gonna improve?

Yes. Lets put it another way if you drop it what are you going to use instead? Your better off risking a bad reaction or shed to propecia then using nothing. Without it you know for sure what will happen.
If a great replacement or option to propecia existed everyone would be using that.

Wut? What's the logic behind this?

Well i heard you could take it every other day or split the tabs to maybe reduce side effects so i took a chance on taking one every other day.

The whole situation was making me really anxious

But there are other things to try like Ru and Dutasteride, i just don't wanna be trying this for 2 years before trying something else which maybe will actually work and by then i would have lost alot of hair i could have saved.

Technically it hasn't been 6 months yet for me so i probably should at least keep going with it but my frontial hairline is fairly see through and continues to go back so its not filling me with much confidence currently.
