Consulting With Doctor

I want to ask those of you who visited the doctor before starting things like finasteride or minoxidil. Is it really necessary to consult with him or it is safe to start Big 3 without it? Did doctor say something that you didn't know already from this forum?
I mean from what I read there is no much choice except finasteride+minoxidil, so he can't advice anything else that will work, right?

people go to doctors mainly for the prescription. I live in UAE and i bought Proscar from the pharmacy without one. So no i dont need to see a doctor. I saw a doctor here years ago and all he did was prescribe me regaine (rogaine) 2% but that too u can buy here without a prescription.

All you need to know is available online. If you are aware of the side effects and possible outcomes then that's all u need to know before making a decision.
