Hi everybody. Lurker here. I've been getting some conflicting advice about whether or not my hairline is receding, and about possible remedies. I'm looking for any and all advice because all I know is what I've read on the internet. I've been told to go on finasteride or start rogaine, but I do not want to jump the gun.
  • 22 y/old male
  • 50/50 baldness in family (father bald, few uncles not, grandfather bald)
  • No excessive hair falling out, except huge shedding 2 years ago. Some in keyboard/shower/shirts.
  • Always have had widow's peak and fairly large forehead. Tip of peak is about one finger from top wrinkle.
  • Hair has always been thin, string, and dry. Edges a bit thin now, not sure if always like that.
  • 3rd to last pic is hair from 5 months ago. 2nd to last picture is hair from a year ago. Last (bad) picture is hair from 3 years ago.
I may seem a little paranoid, but the line of work I am entering is a bit harsh about this sort of thing. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Also, any chance I would look good bald?

Yeah I think you're losing your hair, maybe DUPA ?
Try Finasteride ... if no success you can add Minoxidil. Maybe you will be lucky and keep your hair a very long time, or at least until a better cure comes out.
Why do you think this is DUPA and not male pattern baldness? I was thinking based on the shape I was NW2?

Just wondering because I am not sure that I want to risk the side effects of finasteride if I have DUPA and not male pattern baldness.

Thanks!
