Hey guys,

I know this question might be silly, but I’m a little concerned. Some nights I find myself waking up from my sleep while itching my scalp really hard, like nails digging in a little in my scalp. Nothing too intense of course, but just enough to have some flakes peeling off.

I’m kind of freaking out that I’m causing some bad damage to my scalp. I was looking for input from people knowledgeable on the matter, or have had any similar experiences and know good remedies.

Any input would be appreciated.

Why are you itching your scalp?

Because it’s really itchy, lol.

I’m on finasteride, Kirkland minoxidil 2 times a day, and derminator once a week. I also use styling products like pomade, so I’m sure something in my regimen is making my scalp itchy

It’s most likely due to the topical minoxidil. I have read that people use Nizoral to combat that.

I forgot to mention I use nizoral and regenepure DR as well. I know it’s a bit redundant, but I like the extra ingredients in regenepure.

I basically work a nice lather of nizoral since it makes a better lather. Then I put the DR and work my fingers to massage my scalp.

Minoxidil does that. I used it for 1 year and after like 6 months my head gone crazy and experienced sweet itching which you just want to itch it more everytime you itch. I couldn't bear no longer and dropped it after 1 year.
