My lace system hair line is starting to thin out and I was wondering what concealers I could use to just get a bit more out of the system

my salon suggested using a black sharpie to colour in the lace, would that work well to hide the thinning / bald spots

or maybe hair colouring spray or hair fibres?

Out of curiosity do you run the hair system talk YouTube channel?
He already answered that! Stop being so lazy!

Is that something brilliant people, such as yourself do? They ask other people to give them the answer that's right in front of them? So they can avoid any effort?

All the time in the world to call childish names and make fun of children with autism. But no time to read the form that you're on? No time to find the answers to your questions?

Do you think, someone like that is an asset to this form?
What a simpleton

You're ruing this persons thread by crapping up the thread. Autism much?

Fibres are a stop-gap, you need to get your system replaced.

You could try Toppik which seems to be the most trusted brand for hair fibers. Hair colouring spray is also an option but I wouldn't use a sharpie unless it's a last resort.

Regarding concealers, Try Dermmatch, I've been using it for a couple of years now. It's very easy to use and looks natural. I use it at times for areas of thin bio hair, but have used it on system base in situations like the one you described.
Definitely just a "band aid" temporary fix best utilized to get you by until your replacement system arrives.
Regarding fibers, I also agree with above posts about Toppik, great product.

Yes, you can use hair fibers to conceal thinning areas of a hair system - I've done this and it definitely works. Whether it looks as natural as a non-shedded hair system is debatable, but it's something you can do if you are waiting for your next hair system to arrive or if you don't have enough money to replace it etc. However, I do agree with the other posters above that it's better to replace it once it's reached that point. It will obviously work best if your system isn't TOO badly shedded also.

The only reason I used hair fibers was because of hair system shortages and longer waiting times for custom systems, so I had to make my previous system last longer. I used to use hair fibers and concealer power on my bio hair before I switched to hair systems, and to be honest I'd gladly never have to use it again. A good quality hair system done right beats hair loss concealers hands down in terms of looks and realism!

Yeah, I don’t miss using fibers at all. I’m right there with you!

I cut out sections from old used lace wigs which still have a good amount of hair left in them, and sew them into the thinning area using invisible thread. The surrounding hair covers the join. The stitching is invisible anyway on a 1B wig with 20% grey. I have extended the wearability of two all lace full caps for almost two years by doing this. And also made a new full cap using two new swiss lace toppers. Takes a bit of time and wouldn't bother in normal times, but no stock full caps exist, new custom full caps are not easy to come by right now, take ages to get made and cost a bomb (latest quote $899 vs $299 pre-Covid).

Great idea, I do this too! Although I don't use invisible thread, I just tape or glue the sections in place.

If it's a small area or not too much thinning/shedding it will work. I am doing this on my current piece while awaiting 3 weeks for the new one to come in and be cut in at the salon but I wouldn't go much longer than that doing it.
