Changing generic finasteride

So I'm currentely taking generic finasteride from 4rx.com. it's called pelosta( been taking for 2 months). I noticed alot of people ordering from inhousePharmacy.com, ordering proscar 5mg and simply splitting up the pills to save money.

So my question is whether switching from my current finasteride to proscar would would have any effects such as losing my gains so far or if it would just carry on as normal, sorry if this is worded poorly.

Also as proscar is split and taken in smaller doses to save money, how would I store the pieces I haven't taken yet? would they dry up or lose effectiveness at all.

finasteride in pill should be very stable and last forever if you can keep it dry and light tight
