i have been debating whether to up the doseage to 1mg? will i get better results with this? has anyone had any experience with this? be good to know

I hear most often real results are shown from finasteride after 10-12 months of usage. 0.5 finasteride should be finasteride as after 0.25mg finasteride was shown to have almost an equal effect as 1mg. I would not up finasteride necessarily, perhaps taking biotin or msm to help speed up your hair growth would help you see results faster. Don't know if that would work or not, but it's a thought.

cool thanks. i take vitamin tablets as often as i remember which has a good dose of biotin in it

what is msm?

my hair growth seems pretty good, i have very long hair, but its the diffuse thinning i now seem to have since starting finasteride that concerns me most. at worst when i started i had a receding hairline, mainly in the temples, easily hideable with my long hair

but almost 6 months on finasteride, my hair has thinned out a lot, possibly due to some shedding i guess, just wanting that hair to grow back really!

almost getting to the point where i am questioning whether i should have started you know...hair was much thicker then all over...but i know its a waiting game and i have to wait it out and hope for the best, besides i guess there are no guarantees that if i stop finasteride my hair will return to baseline..
