So I noticed my hair thinning about two year ago, and two months ago I decided to cut my hair to semi long (it was very long before) and start using castor oil(if it doesnt do anything then oh well doesnt hurt right?)

While wasn't necessarily expecting positive results from castor oil, I did not expect negative ones.

I do a oil dosing for a few hours or overnight about once or twice a week and I have been doing this for just over 2 months. While I don't notice any hairs shedding per se, I can certainly tell you that my hair has thinned much more rapidly than it did before I started the castor oil.

Is this normal or is my scalp reacting negatively to the oil? The thing Is I already have fairy oily hair and maybe adding more oils is making it worse? I just don't know, What the norm here? Should I stop? having a mini freak out.

It is possible for oil to cause more shedding. Everybody reacts differently to each oil. For me, olive oil, emu oil, and geranium oil increased shedding drastically. Argan oil also increased shedding to some extent. Jojoba oil and rosehip oil worked decently. You just have to try out different oils to find out what's right for you. I would not recommend oiling your hair often though.

2 months. Could possible be the older hair shedding to give way to new ones. Do you usually shed smaller, thinner hair more? Are you shedding more from areas of hair loss/thinning?

Try taking it orally.

Yeah only 2 months of use could be too early to determine efficacy.
Oral use won't hurt either as Dench suggested.
I'm trying it orally/topically fwiw.

You know, the fact that you just started using it and they fell out probably isn't due to the effects of castor oil internally, but rather externally as the oil is very viscous. Washing it out is bound to break hair due to friction and traction.
