Can't stop the itch!

Hey guys,

This is my first posting on this boards so let me just say hello to everyone from the get go. Reason why I'm posting though is because I'm loosing my hair (of course I am or I wouldn't be here) and I'm suffering from the infamous itch that everyone speaks of accompanying their hair loss. However, I've tried Nizoral (both 1 and 2%), TGel, TSal, Head and Shoulders, Denorex and Lopox and none of them have been able to get rid of my itch. Does anyone here have any suggestions from what has worked for them because this itching is driving me nuts. I feel like clawing my scalp out everyday.

Thanks!

i have the same problem as you do.

As i was using NIZORAL and TGEL.

alternating it between days.
I was itching like MAD on my whole body.

I scratched until i have scar all over my body.

I did some trial and error and found out that TGEL is causing this problem.

I would suggest you stop TGEL and TSAL first and see how you feel.

If you dare to do so, shave your head entirely with a Mach III razor, and you will see major improvement in the itch. I did so yesterday, and I love it. I believe my hair will also be allot stronger with this procedure. I plan on shaving 2-3 times before finally allowing my hair to grow back again. Let us know!

Loprox shampoo is a good deal and will totaly kill any itch you have on your scalp, my hair feels like it did when I was a kid, nice and greasy with no itch. Seriously this stuff works great and is 10x gentler than Nizoral.

I don't know how long you've been using the minoxidil for but for me the worst of the itching went after a few months usage so perhaps yours will.

Also be careful not to apply too much minoxidil to one spot as I found this to be a big factor in making my scalp itch and flake.

Well, I'm only using the minoxidil on my temple area and I don't have any itching there.

Without using minoxidil my head was fine so I don't know what's making yours itch.

Try leaving the foamed up shampoo on your head for a few minutes to let it soothe your scalp and don't use hot water when shampooing either.
