As soon as I get a digital camera I'll try and get some pics and I'll put up some shots of people with hair similar to how it looked before I started. Might be a while, though.
But I'm looking in the mirror and I can't believe how thick it is looking! hair is very rapidly improving all over my scalp. In fact, if it never got any better I would be totally happy.
I started out five months ago totally limp and dangerously thin with a very weak crown area.
I came to this site, educated myself, and trimmed my hair way, way down (basically shaved it off). This totally improved how I looked and let me put my hair out of my mind. IMO, I looked much better like that and if treatments never helped me, it couldn't get any worse! I was already shaved!
IMO, shaving my hair down and keeping it trim has really helped the absorption of my minoxidil as it's not just getting stuck in my hair but is actually going ON my scalp. IMO that's why a lot of you fail on minoxidil. Your head ain't getting any. Your hair is sopping it all up like a sponge.
Anyway, I've only been taking minoxidil and MSM for 5.5 months now. Went through the de rigeur shed but that was it. Hair is , from my perspective, exploding from my head, lol. I would, at this stage, definitely call me a good responder.
Anyway, my finasteride should be showing up tommorrow. Went out and got a pill cutter.
My rationale for starting finasteride after was I knew that minoxidil would hopefully cause a surge of hair and then when my head got acclimated to the minoxidil, I would add the finasteride.
This way, my finasteride shed will be camophlaged by the regrowth on minoxidil. Just my method.
So, anyway, if I respond well to finasteride as well, I imagine in another six months to a year I will have very dense hair.
As it stands, when dry, at 16mm length, you cannot see my scalp at all. My hair hasn't been this nice since I was at least 20 years old. And I'm 30 :freaked2:
So, I think I can keep this offset till cloning shows up and gets cheap or whatever else comes along.
Yes, I am the anti - gunner.
