Can you go from Receding Hairline to Diffuse Thinning?

I've been losing my hair for 10 years (noticeable for 7) and it's only been a receding hairline. Top of head and crown has never lost anything noticeable. This last month, I lost 30-40% of my hair by diffuse thinning throughout the top of my head and I can see scalp when under a light. My scalp has also started burning and itching. Has anyone gone through this? It seems like an atypical pattern.

My dad's side of the family only recedes back and my mom's has diffuse thinning, but keeps their hairline. I thought I was following my dad's side, until this came out of no where. I seem to have the worst of both.

Is this normal? Could it be a secondary condition causing this rapid hair loss (in areas I've never lost in before)?

It issn't atypical.
I receded fr three years before diffuse set in. After that, I started going bald fast!

yup.

generally what happens with people who have male pattern baldness.

a lot of the time you will see someone advance into a NW3, then all of a suddent start diffusing all over.

even if its not noticible to the naked eye your whole scalp is slowly diffusing ontop of male pattern baldness.
