Trying to get to the root of what was a dramatic shift in my hair.
2015 I had a slightly below average thyroid lab.
I had prolonged use of oral antibiotics for beard cysts - Solodyn/minocycline for over 7 years.
Female PCP put me on 50mg Synthroid.
After 7 months I noticed an immediate loss of hair that shed has never ceased still between 70-200 per day from a zero loss baseline. 1.5 years. At the time of the loss I was told it was Telogen Effluvium (bs) and ceased all meds. I started oral minoxidil 8 months later and had a huge shed. Leveled a bit and a huge shed now.
Any experiences with Thyroid meds, antibiotics and a correlation with Hairloss onset? At 39 with thick wavy black hair I thought I had dodged the MPD bullet. Now I think the PCP May have contributed.
Should I get back on the meds?
