Can moving into a new residence cause hair loss?

Hey everybody. I'm new to the forum and I had a question for people that may have an answer to my situation. Can environment accelerate male pattern baldness?

A quick background: I first noticed my hair thinning out in the early part of 2009.

I moved into a new apartment with my dad and brother in May of 2009. 3 months later, I started to see a indicators that I am losing my hair at an accelerated rate. The edges of my hairline started to recede, and I could slightly see my scalp in the front of my head. I'm thinking it is another typical case of male pattern baldness, so I try to treat accordingly. But now my brother is noticing he is losing a good amount of hair. I asked my father if he was, and he definitely noticed a difference.

Now, moving here caused us less stress than before in each of our situations. I know that there was a very slight mold problem, but I think it would cause diffuse hair loss. Am I over thinking things? Or could there be a problem?

Obviously supermarket own brand cola causes baldness.

Of course, I am. But I'd like to make sure that every angle is covered before I tell my brother to go on treatments that have the possibility to ruin his face and sex drive, especially when there is mold in the apartment.

Hi I am 60 yrs old just these past few years I've been noticing sagging and wrinkled skin on my face. It started about the same time as I changed my car from a ford to a renault. Do you think driving the renault is somhow responsible for this? Maybe I should go back to driving a Ford?

male pattern baldness type hairloss is caused by internal factors not external (environmental) factors. That is why it is so hard to treat, because the follicle is being constantly killed from the inside.

Anyway, sometimes when you use a different mirror than the one you usually use at home,
then your hair may appear to look different. Especially if the bathroom has different lighting/ window position/ stronger natural light etc, then what you are used to.

Hi, I was curious to see if the hairloss in yourself and your family continued. Just came across this post, and agree with you that it is not unreasonable to think something in your new environment may have contributed to hair loss. Especially since it started occurring at an accelerated rate in all 3 of you. I myself have noticed increased hair loss shortly after moving to my new apt. Sure, it may be coincidence. But I think it's very close-minded of everyone else to write it off right away.
