Spencer corbin? i think his name is says his hair has stayed the same for about 15 or so years and dr lee recently told me if my hair has been the same the last five years on the big 3 chances are my hair loss has stabilized I assume he means my hair will be this way for a long time most likely?

I wonder if you stick to the big 3 can most people wth male pattern baldness keep the hair they have usually over 10 years?

THe studyies only show a five year study but at the end of the study the hair seems to have stabilized

it seems like people who are actually starting to lose again after being on the big three do something to screw it up they stop using the products on routine because lets be honest most guys are not going to use minoxidil and take their pill religiously after five years im sure they get so comfortabforle with their hair loss they start taking it for granheted and slack off.

I have not heard of anyone losing hair after mainting it for five years on the big 3 and staying on the pritoducts w no slacking?

i have been on the big 3 for 10 years, pretty much without "slacking off" as the previous poster put it. maintained hair great for 5-6 years but have seen it deteriorate dramatically since then. now at 10 year mark things are very bad.

conclusion: the treatments lose their effect, finasteride doesnt seem to have been able to maintain my hair past 6 years.

In my personal opinion I think hair becomes more sensitive to androgens as we get older in people that are susceptible in the first place. So lowering DHT works well for a while but over time the hair is still sensitive to the DHT and other androgens like testosterone that are left.

if the hairloss get worse i would advise a topical blocker or androgenic receptors degrader...

ru / spironolactone .... asc-j9 (the real stuff, not the fake stuff from china)

In less than five years' time, there will be a product that will regrow hair so if you can hold on until then, you'll be fine. It might be wishful thinking, but scientific discovery and progression grows exponentially. Just look at all the advancement we've had in the last five years...it can only get better.

I've been taking Proscar everyday for 14 years and I'm still a NW2. Maybe I was lucky, maybe luck had nothing to do with it: I take the right treatments (not some generic crap) and I'm very disciplined - I've never missed a single dose.

Michael Barry had a post that quoted a dermatologist on this subject. If I remember correctly, the derm stated that it should take around 14 years for an average responder to return to baseline when using propecia. Adding in minoxidil or keto shampoo, tricomin, etc. should each add a few years onto that.

I'm pretty sure the post was in the Experimental Treatments forum... you may want to search there.
