Hello, my name is Jim, and I have a question, that I never get a direct answer to and I was wondering if someone could help me. (Some backstory) growing up I was very skinny, and it followed me throughout my life, no matter how much more I ate, nothing seemed to work, then one day I heard lifting weights helps with this sort of issue, and I gave it a try. Over the past few months I've seen amazing improvement, however the topic has come up: willing lifting weights accelerate hair loss?
On both sides of my family, the balding gene can be seen, however there are a few people with hair, which gives me hope I inherited it from them. My question is, if I have the balding gene, will the exercise I'm currently doing (for about 2 ½ months) accelerate that balding gene? ***To clarify one thing, I'm am not one of those people who goes to the gym lifts extremely heavy weights, I do not do any heavy compound lifts, I a lot of push ups and sit ups (about 250 each), and do different variations of curls with dumbbell or barbell (heaviest weight 50lbs) however I exercise every other day for about 3 hours. I don't do any heavy lifting but I do a number of body weight exercises and a good number of isolation exercises for long periods of time. Does the long period of exercise have a negative effect?
I do not take any workout supplements. Do I have anything to worry about, thank you, Any response helps

Some steroids could, but lifting weights on its own can't affect your hairline. If anything at all, healthy eating can even strenghten your hair

Also, not on the hair loss topic, but don't overdo your workouts when it comes to weight. More reps is better than more weight for skinny guys trying to bulk (trust me, ive got experience with it). Even worse, lifting weights that are over your limits WILL most likely damage your joints, which will become a permanent issue, so take my advice and take it easy (or just find a decent coach that knows what's good for you).

Edit: i didn't read your post till the end, bodyweight lifting is perfect for you untill you get enough mass. Just don't stop working out and make yourself a good eating schedule , the second being very important.
