Hello, my name is Jim, and I have a question, that I never get a direct answer to and I was wondering if someone could help me. (Some backstory) growing up I was very skinny, and it followed me throughout my life, no matter how much more I ate, nothing seemed to work, then one day I heard lifting weights helps with this sort of issue, and I gave it a try. Over the past few months I've seen amazing improvement, however the topic has come up: willing lifting weights accelerate hair loss?
On both sides of my family, the balding gene can be seen, however there are a few people with hair, which gives me hope I inherited it from them. My question is, if I have the balding gene, will the exercise I'm currently doing (for about 2 ½ months) accelerate that balding gene? ***To clarify one thing, I'm am not one of those people who goes to the gym lifts extremely heavy weights, I do not do any heavy compound lifts, I a lot of push ups and sit ups (about 250 each), and do different variations of curls with dumbbell or barbell (heaviest weight 50lbs) however I exercise every other day for about 3 hours. I don't do any heavy lifting but I do a number of body weight exercises and a good number of isolation exercises for long periods of time. Does the long period of exercise have a negative effect?
I do not take any workout supplements. Do I have anything to worry about, thank you, Any response helps
