Is it safe to take 1mg Finasteride and also be doing 0.1% topical Finasteride?

I am also doing this... a few 5mg tabs of finasteride added to my minoxidil mixed together.

So I’m better off just not taking the topical 0.1%?

Yes. Whether you use topical and oral or just oral, it still eliminates the same amount of dht. Just take the oral 1mg per day. On my routine, I take 1mg every other day, works the same.

But my predicament is that I’ve been getting the 0.1% topical finasteride, which also contains 7% min, from my dermatologist and was getting ok results. So I just recently started oral finasteride and I needed to get another 7% min with no finasteride in it, but I can’t 7% min anywhere and I don’t want to down my dosage of it to 5%. So I was wondering if I can just still use the 7% min and 0.1% finasteride with the oral finasteride instead of downing my dose of min to 5%. I just don’t want the topical finasteride to affect the oral finasteride. Sorry if it’s confusing, I tried to explain the best I could. I really appreciate your answers.

Just start needling instead of using higher percentages than 5%. Easier on the wallet too as the higher concentrations tend to be a lot more pricey.

I actually get you, it's not confusing lol. But as a minoxidil user for 5 years, I've tried minoxidil 5%, 6%, and 10% and it really doesn't have any difference on the results I've experienced as long as you use it religiously. In my regimen, I use minoxidil 5% twice daily + 1mg oral finasteride every other day and I'm getting steady/optimum results.

But then again, you mentioned that a dermatologist prescribed you your regimen so in my opinion you should take the derma's prescription. He/she is a professional, and I'm not, lol. But seriously, it's always much safer to trust someone who is a professional on this matter. People react to different regimens anyways. Better stick to your prescribed routine to avoid f**king up your hormones. Best of luck.

doesnt it eliminate more? since you are directly applying finasteride on the scalp.

Makes no sense to use topical in addition to oral for so many reasons. Mainly that your not gonna inhibit more DHT, and your chance of sides will be higher. Just stick to oral

Are you sure about this? Ive read that scalp dht can greatly go down even more when you combine both oral and topical. Il look into it more though.
