Can I Substitute Minoxidil With Another Treatment After Starting It?

I am a 20 yo male with a norwood 3-4 hairline. So i went to the doctor and he gave me minoxidil 5% which i used for 3 months. I noticed no change/little shedding in these three months. After going for a review appointment, the doctor decided to give me Mostal solution which is another treatment made from green apples and told me to stop minoxidil.
However i read that stopping minoxidil would be a bad choice and that it needs about 6-7 months to show results. Is it too early for me to stop minoxidil or should i keep using it? And is it safe to stop it and use another treatment without suffering from increased hair loss?

I used minoxidil for a year, literally worked for abit (not effective at all) then lost any ground I made from it. I started finasteride instead, stopped min and my hair loss has definitely decreased. I might start minoxidil again along side finasteride for even better results.

Minoxidil on its own is only so effective , it is best to use it with other treatments for the best results and you will most likely loose any hair you gained from minoxidil within 6 months to a year after stoping.
