I have been used minoxidil for 3 years and it has effected my hair growth very possitive.

If I stop using minoxidil and I start to use finasteride, can I protect minoxodil's hair effects with finasteride ??

You will definitely lose density if you stop minoxidil. However, if you could only choose one of the two, finasteride would be better, longterm. But don't quit minoxidil, if you don't have to.

Once you stop using the minoxidil, everything that was regrown or sustained by the minoxidil will be lost. finasteride is not able to maintain minoxidil-dependent hairs.

Really? So minoxidil doesn't reactivate the hairs to a point that DHT blocking will let them survive? I was really hoping to use finasteride + minoxidil to grow back some hair and then ween myself off the minoxidil and keep the growth using only finasteride. I don't want to be dependent on minoxidil for the rest of my life...

stay on minoxidil, and start finasteride. If you stop minoxidil, you will lose ALL the hair you gained whether or not you start finasteride. The reason for this is the way in which minoxodil causes hair regrowth is different from that of finasteride, so finasteride will not "hold" that regrowth that was stimulated via a different mechanism.

You have to stay on minoxidil, there is no choice if you want to keep your gains

Nope, that's a bad idea. minoxidil is not much of a hassle for me anymore.
