I have been taking wellbutrin for 2 years, I couldn't live without it. I started losing hair before I started taking wellbutrin so I don't know if it's affecting it but if wellbutrin causes shedding, you would notice a diffuse hairloss. Wellbutrin could not cause male pattern baldness, that doesn't make sense. But it might cause temporary shedding, but it won't hurt the follicles. BTW, I did not notice any shedding on wellbutrin, nor any acne. I did however notice a huge increase in my sexdrive due to all the dopamine. You should not be afraid to take it, it's a great drug and lifted my depression like no other drug has done.j3321 said:I'd love to know the answer to that. I've been on Wellbutrin 200 mg for 6 days since it has a stimulant like effect similar to amphetamine though it is an anti-depressant. (Although at this point I really don't feel anything. How long until you had an effect?)
I'm paranoid it will aggravate hair loss and give me acne like Adderall did. So I guess we'll see (I lost like 700 hairs in the shower in 5 days at my peak dosage).
Maybe we'll keep in touch and I'll PM you if I lose the results from finasteride, nizoral, and minoxidil as I begin Wellbutrin. Although I'm considering not doing Wellbutrin at all because I'm afraid of the side effects. I've researched online and hairloss doesn't seem to be a problem.

I should also add the 2 of my best friends take Wellbutrin and I asked them today about the hairloss. They said they did not notice any hairloss, and belive me, they have a head of hair that I would die for. So don't even think about quitting the drug. BTW, have you tried finasteride? It took about two weeks for me to notice an improvement in my attitude and for the side effects to go away. The first week I couldn't sleep more than a couple hours at a time because I was having crazy vivid dreams, and had no appetite whatsoever. Most people would probably like that but Im already skinny and couldn't afford to lose anymore weight.
I finally started sleeping again and got my appetite back so all is well. Like He-Bat said, I also got a huge increase in libido. I was bugging my gf every morning and night for awhile but its back to normal now...which is still almost every morning and night :laugh:
