Bruises on Bald spots?????

I was diagnosed with alopecia areata in December and have lost most of my hair on the top and sides of my head. All I really have left is perimeter hair. I am currently receiving the steriod injections every month, and I do have some peach fuzz growing on most of the bald spots. But now I have bruised looking grey-blue spots on some of my bald spots. My dermatologist who is also the dermatology professor at UT Southwestern Med School, did not know why I have these bruises. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
