Lately I've become pretty intent on wanting to build muscle mass, downloaded several ebooks, etc etc.

Does "weight training", as opposed to cardiovascular excercise, increase the rate of hairloss in any way?

Thanks.

It's possible that bodybuilding could have an indirect, albeit very slight, corollary relationship with hair density and/or hairloss, but I certainly wouldn't worry at all about it. There are so many more things that cause hairloss above the benefits of simple bodybuilding. I would perform each and every exercise with total peace of mind.

weigh training especially of the major muscle groups causes major shifts in testosterone.

As for hair loss, I don't know, but there are a fair few weight trainers here...

I guess I should elaborate.

I'm not afraid of becoming bald, I'm already suffering from male pattern baldness (21 years old, norwood 2ish)

I'm concerned that the aforementioned testosterone shifts, etc, will somehow increase the rate of baldness?

And I don't mean just body building, I mean diet change, protein shakes, the works (Not steroids, and probably not any supplements)

Look at all the top bodybuilders (or any amatuer ones aswell) some are bald/balding most are not. Just like in any random group of men some are suffering m.p.b most are not. Its down to your genes.
