Can anyone who has had bloodwork done before suggest some things to look/ask for?

I have strange hairloss. General thinning ALL over - top, sides, back, bottom, etc. There is no pattern. I've have thyroid tests, but they came back normal. Anything else I should be looking for?

Check for heavy metals in the blood stream... copper, lead, iron... They DO do those tests. And lead, being toxic, can cause hair loss systemically.

I have a question... Do you live in an old house? If you do... the water pipes may have been constructed using a lead-based solder. It's possible for you to get a minor lead poisoning from faulty connections.

Don't rule that as the cause, however, it's HIGHLY uncommon. I'm just throwing it out there as a vague possibility.

Family history of total baldness anywhere?

Suggest setting up an appointment with an Endocrinologist whom you should verify beforehand has a Dermatologist as a "colleague" whom he can speak with. Endo's can suggest proper hormone tests if you have abnormal hair thinning patterns.
