I am going in to have some blood work done in a couple of days. I have not told my doctor that I am taking dutasteride. Will it show up in the test results or skew them in any way?

OMG are you kidding me - I had no idea it did that!!!

Seriously, you think I would be taking this drug if didn't know those basic things?

My question was for any other results that it could affect. I don't want to get busted by my doctor.

Anybody else (preferably a dutasteride user)?

It will give incorrect results if your doctor tests your PSA levels (prostate specific antigen) to detect prostate cancer. An abnormaly high level of PSA can indicate the disease. The doctor would need to double whatever the results of the test are because finasteride/dutasteride lowers PSA levels by 50%. My advice would be to tell him you're on it. I'm assuming you're young and he may not even check this, but it's something you should be aware of.

Okay, thanks guys. Hopefully they won't check the PSA since I am only 27.

I am currently a full-time grad student and am uninsured, so I have to go to the subsidized county healthcare facility. The doctor who saw me today and ordered the blood work is a real a-hole and would very likely give me crap about taking this medicine off-label, especially when I am milking them for low-cost healthcare. If it was my family doctor back home, I would disclose this.
