black hair dots where they shouldn't be

After being on my regimen for a few months (which is working great btw) I have noticed black hair dots and tiny black hairs all over my forehead where I have never had hair before. My hairloss is diffuse with Norwood 2.5 temples, but I have always maintained a really strong patch at the very front.

The black hair and dots are a whole inch down from that very front patch (I just noticed them today, noticed tiny black hair further back along the temples earlier about a month ago). Anyone experience this? Is this the start of a whole new future hairline? Is this possible? My whole life I've had at best, Norwood 2 temples.

What I do know, is that there are follicles definitley living and breathing in these foreign areas of the scalp, it's just a matter of activation I'm assuming. Some specialist say that the follicles are usually dead on slick bald spots, but what would they say about tiny black hair and dots on the forehead where I have never had any terminal hair? I think it's pretty interesting nontheless.

you see, that's comfirming my theory   . No seriously i really congratulate you for the results you've been getting, eventhough in my opinion having your hairline extended one inch down is quite extreme and i wonder whether this is good cosmetically or not as long as i haven't seen pics from you. You have to tell us...

it is pretty extreme and conventional wisdom points at it not being possible, but people are always changing the history books. Don't worry about the cosmetic appearance though, I've always has a slightly high forehead and that one inch lower hairline would look quite normal and not like one of the wolf boys from the carnival. :)

From my research though, those black hair dots almost always spring out new hairs. Seems a little different and more prominent than peach fuzz. Time will tell I guess..

Wangho,

I am in a similar situation as I have little dark hairs growing down on my forehead that were previously, been so long I can't remember, never there. I am just letting them grow and if they start to get larger I will just shave them down. I am just happy to be getting some hair back. Hopefully I will be at or above baseline at my one year mark.

cool. I believe you were on flax the same as I right? What else is in your regimen?

Yeah. I actually take 1000mg in the morning and then another 1000mg at night. Unsure if this is any real help. The only reason I am doing so is because the first bottle of flax seed I bought did not have a high lingam count, but my current bottle does. I pop so many supplements and vitamins everyday I could add more and not even notice.

Couple questions Wangho...

Did you go through a Telogen Effluvium shed when you started finasteride? I did something fierce and have my fingers crossed, I am mid month 7, that things start to pick up. Do you also notice not only little black hairs on your head but also even thinner black hairs that are growing? I use a 10x magnifying mirror and can see these, I am hoping these also start thickening and maturing although not the ones to low on my forehead. I think that, although not the source, some of my hair loss was caused by inflammation. I have been thinking about adding licorice root as it helps to reduce this.

Propecia/Nizoral/Tricomin/Folligen
Multi-vitamin/SP/MSM/Hair Suppliment/L-Lysine/Green Tea Extract/Flax Seed Oil (high lignan)/GSE/Fo-Ti
Veggie Diet/Green Tea

I was going through a bit of a shed before I started and about a month into the regime I guess. I wan't losing 100's of hairs like alot of people claim, but from doing the hair pull along the front, I would lose about 8 or so hairs. My hair was really thin to start with though, so I didn't have 100's to lose. Now I have no shed and don't lose anything except small vellus in the shower.

I have a ton of the very small thin black hairs that you are talking about, but I can see mine from about a foot away in the right light, and it is spreading, getting a little thicker, and getting longer. Im feeling really good.
