Big Shedding 1 Month Dutasteride (...)

Hi friends, i responded well to finas/minoxidil/keto in 1 year, but i decided to try duta for more results.

I started with a loading dose , 1,5mg ten days and than 0,5mg daily.
After 4 weeks im looking my hair is thinning day by day. the frontal and temples are getting thinner too..
Really a weird shedding..
i already still take 1mg finas ed too because i had 40 pills left.

Is really hard the dutas shedding or is it my f*****g male pattern baldness speed up ?

I also lowered the mega dose of minoxidil (4ml x 2 daily) to 1,5ml x2, but it was 2 weeks ago, i doubt can affect positive or neg in these short time..

At this point, it's hard to say, shedding to this degree at only one month is quite unusual, if this shedding occured at say 2 months or after i'd say try riding it out, perhaps it's was the loading does which made this occure, continuing to take finasteride at the same time as dutasteride might also be an issue, be aware also that people with certain genotypes can react differently to either finasteride or dutasteride.

I can't give you a definitive answer but from my observations, i don't think it's good to take finasteride and dutasteride together on the same day, there's also questionable value in taking finasteride if you're taking a stronger anti andogren like dutasteride which has a very long half time.

some people who take finasteride also take dutasteride 2-3 times a week but not on the same days as they take finasteride, so something like mon-wed-fri, the rest of the days finasteride.

from what i've read, even 0.1 mg of dutasteride is a bit stronger than 5mg of finasteride (proscar) so in theory even taking one 0.5mg of dutasteride every five days is stronger than finasteride at 5mg.

can i ask why you want to take dutasteride? are you looking to have some thickening?

I take finas because i have 40 pills and because i read dutas take long time to build up in the system. People combined finas and dutas with good results . I take im the morning duta and night finas, not the same time..when my finas finish i will stick with only duta..

I switched to duta because i see some good results from people using it.
My goal is keep what i hve gained and what i hhave the major time possible and thicken more if its possible.

having 40 pills or 40 packs left is irrelevant, never compremise on your health just because you want to get rid of some pills.

most people who are on finasteride and dutasteride, take them on seperate days.

the usual routine for most is: dutasteride 0.5mg everyday, dutasteride 0.5 every other day or dutasteride 2-3 times a week with finasteride for the rest of the days.

Just to point out, it's pointless to take finasteride on the same days as dutasteride inhibits more dht than finasteride, it's a waste.

by taking a loading dose of dutasteride, it's brought you to where you would of been had you of been taking 0.5mg for 2 months, so perhaps this is the reason for the early shed but it could also be your continued use of finasteride.

Why the continued use of finas affect the shedding ?

I dont think there is so much difference taking duta and finas between 24hs or 12hs, because duta habe a long half life and for finas is 2 days..

If it helps, I'm currently using Dutasteride under the supervision of a very good endocrinologist. One month prior to my appointment with her I resumed my left over prescription of 5mg Finasteride to lower my DHT. I asked many questions during my appointment and one of them was taking them together. She basically told me I could discontinue Finasteride because Dutasteride would hold my DHT levels down until it has built up high enough to further drop them. This was backed up with blood work that day, and a few weeks after.

I'm just curious, what type of hair loss did you expierience?

I've read of test studies where most women failed to respond on 1mg finasteride, some responded slightly or moderately on 5mg finasteride, did you have high dht levels? or did you have normal dht levels but just a strong sensitivity to dht?

i've always wondered why most women who responded to dht blockers always need higher doses.

can someone tell me if the dutastetide sold in south korea (where it has been approved for hair loss) actually states on its leaflet that it is intended for hair loss ? anybody ? i asked this somewhere else and on many forums but i am yet to get one answer...

I am transgender, and despite being on HRT I still experienced mild recession at the temples. So this is my only option to prevent it from going further as I was a non responder wtih Finasteride.

I would never of guessed that.

how did your blood work on 5mg finasteride compared to 0.5mg Dutasteride?

The finasteride will not stack up with the Dutasteride, some people believe that finasteride can do something to dht that the dutasteride cannot, i can't remember what it was, for this reason some people believe in taking both but on different days.

Wow its really impressive how this drug seems to speed up my baldness.. day by day the frontal is thinning more and the temples are almost destroyed.

Maybe start with a loading dose wasnt a good idea
